PENATALAKSANAAN FISIOTERAPI PADA PASIEN DIABETIC PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY DENGAN LATIHAN FISIK: SINGLE CASE STUDY

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) ialah komplikasi umum yang berasal dari Diabetes Melitus (DM) jangka panjang yang merupakan penyakit progresif. Gejala DPN meliputi parestesia, hiperestesia, dan disestesia, serta beberapa pasien mengalami tanda-tanda neuropati (seperti rasa terbakar dan tertusuk-tusuk) sementara yang lain ada yang tidak memiliki tanda atau gejala. Memiliki banyak gangguan pada ekstremitas bawah seperti deformitas, penurunan rentang gerak, gangguan koordinasi dan keseimbangan, serta kelemahan otot yang dapat disebabkan oleh Diabetes Melitus. Dengan rutin melakukan terapi fisik dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien DPN serta dapat meringankan gejala neuropati diabetik, selain itu juga dapat meningkatkan kekuatan otot pada ekstremitas bawah, mobilitas sendi, keseimbangan, koordinasi dan fungsi fisik pada penerita Diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
