PENGARUH LATIHAN FARTLEK TERHADAP PENINGKATAN VO2MAX PADA MAHASISWA LAKI-LAKI STIKES SANTA ELISABETH MEDAN TAHUN 2022

Abstract

Fartlek training is one of the varied running exercises that focus on speed to increase heart and lung endurance and improve fitness, among them is VO2max (maximum oxygen volume). The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of fartlek training on increasing VO2max in male students of STIKes Saint Elisabeth Medan in 2022, the method used is one-group pretest-posttest design, with the sampling technique used is purposive sampling, the number of respondents is 25 people. The research instrument was a 12-minute cooper test, the results obtained that the average VO2max value rof male students before the fartlek training intervention was 24.78 ml/kgBB/min (SD=9.85), the mean VO2max value after the fartlek training intervention was 40.92 ml/ kgBB/min (SD=12.05). The statistical test used was paired sample t-test with a p value 0.000, meaning that there was an effect of fartlek training on increasing VO2max in male students at STIKes Saint Elisabeth Medan. Fartlek training as an alternative to increase the value of VO2max in male students so that the fitness level is getting better.
